The Athletic Directors of the Eastern Connecticut Conference announced the football all-star selections for the recently concluded 2008 season.
A number of area gridders were recognized among the selections.
The ECC Medium Division all-stars included from Plainfield, offensive linemen, Derek Cyrus and Chad Nadeau; tight end, Dave Ertel; defensive lineman, Aaron Nadeau; linebacker, Beau Dugas; secondary, Jeff Buchert; honorable mention and sportsmanship, Garrett Desjardins.
Small Division all-stars included from Killingly, offensive lineman, Sean Phongsavad; tight end, Drew Wilcox; secondary, Connor Rochefort; honorable mention, D.J. Grimes, Anthoney Tetreault, Andrew Whitehead and Justin Fisher; sportsmanship, Jamie Davis.
From Woodstock Academy, offensive lineman, Chris McGinn; defensive lineman, Mike Madden; punter, Rene Devin; honorable mention, Jeff Higgins, Tim Fogarty, Sean Copeland and Mike Green; sportsmanship, Colin Garry.
From Tourtellotte/Ellis Tech, honorable mention, Mike Seifert, Jon Mikolaczjac and Charles Thorstenson; sportsmanship, Camden Sver.
